The following logo concepts are intended to reflect the professionalism, stability, and forward-looking work of the Spokane Fire Fighters Benefit Trust. While the original mark functioned as an extension of Local 29’s union logo, the Trust has grown into a distinct organization with a unique and vital role supporting members and their families. Its visual identity should reflect that evolution.
These concepts explore a more refined and distinctive look—honoring the fire service while communicating care, protection, and long-term security. A consistent blue palette is used throughout, aligning with the website and newsletter communications and reinforcing associations with healthcare, strength, loyalty, and trust.

1. Care Compass
This logo centers on the idea of guidance. Four human figures form the cardinal points of a compass, symbolizing the Trust’s role in helping members navigate their healthcare and financial protections. At the center, the compass reinforces direction and clarity, while the Maltese cross shape ties the symbol back to Local 29. Together, the elements represent people supporting people—guiding Spokane fire fighters and their families toward the benefits and security they have earned.
2. Bridge with River and Landscape
This concept builds on the Monroe Street Bridge inspiration by adding the river and surrounding landscape, reinforcing Spokane pride and a strong sense of place. The flowing river introduces movement, symbolizing continuity and the ongoing support members rely on throughout their careers and into retirement.
The brighter blue palette and bolder illustration give the logo energy while maintaining a calm, healthcare-forward tone. The Maltese cross remains the “O” in SPOKANE, seamlessly integrating fire service identity into the wordmark. Distinct typography for Fire Fighters and Benefit Trust creates clear hierarchy and balance, reflecting both strength and care.
3. Circular Logo with Maltese Cross
This concept nods to the current union logo, using a clean circular format with the Maltese cross as the foundation and SPOKANE centered prominently across the middle. The circular shape reinforces unity and continuity, while keeping the design simple and strong.
In the upper quadrant of the cross, a subtle family icon represents the Trust’s role in protecting both fire fighters and their loved ones. The red cross is clearly a nod to the Local 29 union logo.
